Nita Chauhan : Biography

About Nita Chauhan:

She is young……she is dynamic……she is Mother Arts’ genuine child. Nita Chauhan, a London base artist, is a painter with unique human sensitivity. The ‘Art of Painting’ is a very vast phenomenon to be discussed. The term does not limit itself to canvas, colours, textures, images, ideas, lines, etc; rather it is a harmonious combination of all these and much more than that. She expresses her art with soul. She makes colourful waves in her painting which cheer up the mind and the spirit. A good painter needs a supreme consciousness to deal with this art. And Nita Chauhan has that X factor of an artist. She says "My Paintings are my passion and this helps me to express my emotions and personality. Through it I’ve found my identity….. have organized my sentiments".

The ambition to be an artist entered into her at the very early stage of her life, when she used to paint in order to pass her leisure time. Gradually that pastime activity rang up the artist in her, and thus the journey began .In order to avail the theoretical knowledge of the field she did the Diploma in Painting in 1998 at Kala Kendra College of fine arts, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat (India) .There she learnt the basics of arts and gained the discipline of an artist. During those years, she tried her hands over various kinds of art forms. And after contemplating for a considerable bulk of work of arts, she searched out a unique form of art for herself where a harmonious bond of traditional and modern art was to be created. Hence she is a creative artist in the real sense of the term.

Nita Chauhan is a feminist, but not of Virginia Wolf’s kind .As a reader of history, she has the knowledge of woman’s status in society from the pre-historic time. And that collective consciousness of thousand of years gets reflected in her works. She likes to portray basic female sentiments impressionistically. While going through her paintings, one feels the element of loneliness the society has gifted to woman. The women of Nita Chauhan disclose the impressions of the dark realities of the world upon her sentimental heart. They are the portrayal of artist’s inner beliefs. But in contradiction to this loneliness, she also glorifies the element of energy within the woman in her paintings.

Nita Chauhan likes to speak boldly about the facts she believes in. So the majority of the colours she generally chooses have dark shades. We find a very melodious blend of these colours on canvas. The harmony of female anatomy is fantastically observed in her paintings.
Nita’s painting are collected and admired in India, UK and many Other Countries, bringing a vigorous enthusiasm reflecting her own vision and passion.

At present, Nita Chauhan lives in London. She is also member of Brent Artist’s Resource and is consciously putting her efforts to reshape her traditional emotions with modern sensibility.
